# Directions:
01 - Preheat the waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
02 - In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until evenly mixed.
03 - In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, whole milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
04 - Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined, leaving some lumps for tender waffles.
05 - Lightly grease the preheated waffle iron. Pour approximately ½ cup of batter onto the iron for each waffle. Cook until waffles are golden brown and crisp, about 4 to 5 minutes per batch.
06 - Remove waffles from the iron and cut each waffle round into quarters.
07 - In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Stir in the maple syrup and warm for about 2 minutes. Transfer to a small serving bowl.
08 - Arrange the waffle quarters on a platter around the syrup dip bowl. Serve with optional fresh berries, whipped cream, or a dusting of powdered sugar as desired.
